Charles Spurgeon Commentary Mark 1:27

"And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey him." — Mark 1:27 (ASV)

It was the authority of his preaching which first astonished them; and then the authority with which he worked his miracle, and subdued the world of demons. Blessed be God. Christ has not abdicated his authority. He is still the great Messenger of God, full of divine authority to save men, and to deliver them from the power of Satan.
