Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and said, Call ye him. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good cheer: rise, he calleth thee." — Mark 10:48-49 (ASV)
But he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
How soon they changed their note! The very persons who would have kept him back now help him on. Ah! when Christ speaks to his people, if they have been indifferent about the good of others, they also grow warm in heart, and they are ready to help and take interest in the case.
