Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, saith unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?" — Mark 2:8-9 (ASV)
And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
Do they not each require a divine power? If I am divine, I will prove I am by healing this man. Then I have a right to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee.
