"And other fell on the rocky [ground], where it had not much earth; and straightway it sprang up, because it had no deepness of earth:" — Mark 4:5 (ASV)

People of shallow character are often very quick to receive religious impressions, but they also lose them just as quickly. Those who are hasty and impulsive are as easily turned the wrong way as the right way.
