Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And Jesus went forth, and his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi: and on the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Who do men say that I am?" — Mark 8:27 (ASV)
It was Christ's usual way, when he took a walk with his disciples, to pass the time with holy conversation. It would be well if we always did the same. We might do much good, and we might get much good, if we made our Lord Jesus the theme of our talks "by the way." It was an important question that he put to his disciples, Whom do men say that I am?
