Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city." — Matthew 10:14-15 (ASV)
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
Despised and rejected privileges make the fiercest fuel for the fires of hell. Those who might have heard the gospel, and would not hear it, will find the hand of God heavier upon them than it will be even upon the accursed Sodomites. Woe, then, to those who live in London, yet who will not hear the Word of the Lord, or, when they do hear it, will not accept it!
