Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence. And coming into his own country he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?" — Matthew 13:53-54 (ASV)
They were highly privileged to have Jesus back among them, yet they failed to appreciate his teaching; they were astonished at his wisdom, but were unable to perceive the divine source from which it sprang.
