"And a second like [unto it] is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." — Matthew 22:39 (ASV)

The answer is wider than the question. The lawyer asked about “the great commandment.” Christ answered his inquiry and then added, “and the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Who of us has really loved his neighbor as himself? Under the Gospel, this commandment is certainly not less binding than under the Law.
