SCRIPTURE

"And he took a cup, and gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;" — Matthew 26:27 (ASV)

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it;

"Every one of you, take your own personal share." This also Roman Catholics have perverted by denying the cup to the laity.

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it;

That is, "Drink of it, every one of you." Was this the institution of the Lord's Supper? Yes; but what do the Romanists say? Why, that the people may not drink of the cup, and so they keep it away from them; but our Saviour says to this representative company of all His disciples, "Drink you all of it."

And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it;

"Every one of you." Was this the Lord's Supper? Yes. What do Roman Catholics say about it? Why, that the people may not drink the cup!

Yet our Saviour says to his disciples, Drink you all of it.
