SCRIPTURE

"what think ye? They answered and said, He is worthy of death." — Matthew 26:66 (ASV)

Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy, What think ye?

He looks around upon the seventy elders of the people who were sitting there in the great council, and They answered and said, He is guilty of death. Probably Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus were not there; they were the only two friends the Lord had in the Sanhedrin.
