Charles Spurgeon Commentary Matthew 4:9

"and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." — Matthew 4:9 (ASV)

And says to him, All these things will I give you, if you will fall down and worship me (Matthew 4:9).

Why, they were Christ's already! They never belonged to Satan; and, though for a while he had to some extent usurped authority over them, it was like his impudence to offer to give away what was not his own.
