SCRIPTURE

"And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven [have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." — Matthew 8:20 (ASV)

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Christ means – "Can you follow the Son of man when there is no reward except himself – not even a place for your head to rest upon, or a home where you may find comfort? Can you cling to him when the lone mountain side shall be the place where he spends whole nights in prayer while the dew falls heavily upon him? Can you follow him then?" This is a test of love which causes many to be "found wanting."
