SCRIPTURE

"But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (then saith he to the sick of the palsy), Arise, and take up thy bed, and go up unto thy house. And he arose, and departed to his house." — Matthew 9:6-7 (ASV)

But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then He says to the sick of the palsy), Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house. And he arose, and departed to his house.

Carrying the mattress on which he had lain. Would he keep that bed stored, do you think, for a memorial? Or if he used it in the future to sleep on, would he not wake up on his bed by night and praise the Lord for what He had done for him? I think that we should treasure up in our memory the deeds of Christ on our behalf, if indeed we know His great salvation. I would not be surprised if you have a mattress somewhere at home, a bed, or a book, or something with which the remembrance of some deed of infinite love and almighty grace is connected.
