SCRIPTURE

"For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ:" — Philippians 3:18 (ASV)

Of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ

The worst enemies that the cross of Christ has are the enemies inside the professing church of Christ.

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:)

I stress this statement: They are the enemies of the cross of Christ. Professors of religion, who enter the church and yet lead ungodly lives, are the worst enemies that the cross of Christ has. These are the sort of men who bring tears to the minister's eyes; these are the ones who break his heart; they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.

(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you, even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
