SCRIPTURE

"He that would restrain her restraineth the wind; And his right hand encountereth oil." — Proverbs 27:16 (ASV)

That is to say, if a man put sweet ointment on his hand, the smell of it would soon be perceived; so, if a woman is of a contentious, angry, quarrelsome disposition, her contentiousness will be discovered—there is no hiding it.
