Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And the winepress are trodden without the city, and there came out blood from the winepress, even unto the bridles of the horses, as far as a thousand and six hundred furlongs." — Revelation 14:20 (ASV)
And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
By this striking symbol, the apostle describes the greatness and the terror of the overthrow that must happen to the ungodly once God begins to deal with them in judgment. Oh, that the abounding mercy of God would give us a place in his great harvest, and not leave us to be gathered in the vintage of his wrath, for our Lord Jesus Christ's sake! Amen.
And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
So terrible will be even the preliminary destruction of the ungodly. Though they grow in clusters, yet shall they perish.
Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished.
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to each one of us. Amen.
