SCRIPTURE

"For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby. But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:)" — Romans 10:5-6 (ASV)

For Moses describes the righteousness that is of the law, that the man who does those things shall live by them. But the righteousness that is of faith—

Is of quite another sort, for it—

For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise,

Ah! That is a very different sort of thing. It does not speak about doing and living, but the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise.
