SCRIPTURE

"For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby. But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down:) or, Who shall descend into the abyss? (That is, to bring Christ up from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:" — Romans 10:5-8 (ASV)

Describes the righteousness which is of the law, That the man who does those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaks in this way, Say not in your heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what says it? The word is near you—

Not up there, nor down there; neither in the heights nor in the abyss: The word is near you
