Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law." — Romans 3:31 (ASV)
God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
There is no one who loves the law of God so much, and delights in it after the inward man, as the one who is justified by faith. There is nothing that honors the law so much as the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ. It establishes the law forever, even as Christ said to His disciples, Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
