"for he that hath died is justified from sin. But if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him;" — Romans 6:7-8 (ASV)

For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

There was no getting free from the power of sin, except by dying to it; but, being dead to it, we are free from it; and, now being dead that way, we have entered into a new life that we might live as Christ lives.
