Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"Who shall lay anything to the charge of God`s elect? It is God that justifieth; who is he that condemneth? It is Christ Jesus that died, yea rather, that was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." — Romans 8:33-34 (ASV)
It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth?
No one can, for:
Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies. Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yes rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Equally impossible; and if neither God nor Christ will condemn, what judge do we have to fear? The Judge of all the earth, and the Judge of the quick and the dead – if neither of these condemn, then condemn away, whoever wishes.
