SCRIPTURE

"and they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. But if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the spirit is life because of righteousness." — Romans 8:8-10 (ASV)

Cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

So that although Christ dwells in a man, he must not suppose that he will be free from suffering, and pain, and sickness, for the body has not yet risen from the dead, and does not yet feel the full effect of regeneration. The soul has risen from the dead by regeneration, and it therefore is life because of righteousness; and the body will, in due time, also share in the power of Christ's Spirit. The day draws near when we shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption, into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
