Charles Spurgeon Commentary

Charles Spurgeon Commentary
"And it shall be, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, There shall they be called sons of the living God." — Romans 9:26 (ASV)
There shall they be called the children of the living God.
See the splendor of this divine sovereignty, which shows itself in wondrous, unexpected acts of grace, selecting and taking to itself those who seem to be self-condemned, and even condemned by himself, of whom he had said, "Ye are not my people."
And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, You are not my people; –
Though he himself had said it –
And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
That in the very same place where their sins made it plainly evident they were not God's people – in that very same place shall men confess that they are the children of the living God. Oh, what has not grace done?
