SCRIPTURE

"When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, give diligence to come unto me to Nicopolis: for there I have determined to winter. Set forward Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them." — Titus 3:12-13 (ASV)

When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis, for I have determined there to winter. Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be lacking for them.

Paul had already told Titus to instruct the saints in Crete to abound in good works; now he is commanded to take care of certain traveling Christians and to help them on their way. It was the custom in ancient times, when traveling was very different from what it is now. When Christians passed from one town to another, they would find the church and be entertained and helped on their journey by their fellow believers. Thus they kept up a practical fellowship of love to all the saints.
