"Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals." — 1 Corinthians 15:33 (ASV)

Turning to Greek literature, Paul supports his position by quoting a piece of practical worldly wisdom from the Greek poet Menander, relevant to the situation in the Corinthian church. The “bad company” points to those who were teaching that there is no resurrection and so were a threat to the testimony of the church.
