Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary 1 Corinthians 7:26

"I think therefore that this is good by reason of the distress that is upon us, [namely,] that it is good for a man to be as he is." — 1 Corinthians 7:26 (ASV)

Each person should remain as he or she now is “because of the present crisis” (see comments on vv.1, 29–31). In other words, remain married if you are married; single if you are single.
