Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary 2 Timothy 1:11

"whereunto I was appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher." — 2 Timothy 1:11 (ASV)

For the proclamation of this Gospel Paul was appointed “a herald and an apostle and a teacher.” We find the same three functions, together with exactly the same introductory formula in 1 Timothy 2:7 (see comments on that verse).
