2 Timothy 2:10

SCRIPTURE

"Therefore I endure all things for the elect`s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory." — 2 Timothy 2:10 (ASV)

Because of this, the apostle is patiently willing to “endure” (GK 5702) everything for the sake of the “elect” (GK 1723). God has set apart from among the rebellious human race those who are dear to himself; them he has made, through faith in Christ, citizens in his kingdom. The whole purpose of Paul’s ministry was that people might “obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus,” and the ultimate goal of this salvation is being with Christ in “eternal glory.”
