Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary 2 Timothy 2:9

"wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound." — 2 Timothy 2:9 (ASV)

For preaching this Gospel, Paul is suffering like a chained criminal. But he rejoices that “God’s word is not chained.” The preacher is in prison, but the Word of God is still moving on and transforming lives.
