Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary 2 Timothy 3:13

"But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." — 2 Timothy 3:13 (ASV)

Paul was not alone in his sufferings. He declares that everyone who desires “to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” Meanwhile, “evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse”; such people have been deceived by false teachers, and they are now deceiving others.
