Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary Acts 2:15

"For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day." — Acts 2:15 (ASV)

Peter begins negatively by arguing that the apostles could not be drunk, for it was only “nine in the morning.” Unfortunately, this argument was more telling in antiquity than today.
