Acts 25:8

SCRIPTURE

"while Paul said in his defense, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar, have I sinned at all." — Acts 25:8 (ASV)

Festus convened court and ordered Paul brought before him, thus reopening the whole case against him, and the Jewish accusers restated their charges (cf. 24:5–6). But again they produced no witnesses, nor could they prove their charges. As for Paul, he stoutly continued to insist on his innocence (v.8). So the impasse remained.
