Acts 3:7

SCRIPTURE

"And he took him by the right hand, and raised him up: and immediately his feet and his ankle-bones received strength." — Acts 3:7 (ASV)

The healing is described as an instantaneous one, accomplishing in a moment what God in his providence through the normal healing processes usually takes months to do. The effect on the man was traumatic; he began walking about and jumping and praising God. As for the people, they were “filled with wonder and amazement.” What was taking place was but a token, to those who had eyes to see, of the presence of the Messianic Age, of which the prophet had long ago predicted: “Then will the lame leap like a deer” (Isaiah 35:6).
