Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary Colossians 2:6

"As therefore ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk in him," — Colossians 2:6 (ASV)

“So then” links Paul’s appeal with what he has just said. The Colossians had received Christ as the Anointed of God (“Christ”), as the historic Savior (“Jesus”), and as the sovereign “Lord.” Now Paul appeals to them to “continue to live [GK 4344] in him” in the same manner. He wants their present conduct to conform regularly to the doctrine taught them at the beginning, the doctrine they had committed themselves to at their conversion.
