Ephesians 3:10

SCRIPTURE

"to the intent that now unto the principalities and the powers in the heavenly [places] might be made known through the church the manifold wisdom of God," — Ephesians 3:10 (ASV)

The ultimate goal of both creation and redemption is the manifestation of the divine “wisdom” (GK 5053). This wisdom displayed in creation and embodied in Christ is a many-splendored thing, iridescent with constantly unfolding beauties. What had been screened from the angelic hierarchy (cf. 1:21) is now to be declared through the body of Christ on earth (2:6–7). The ecclesiological implications of such a verse as this are staggering indeed (cf. 1 Peter 1:12). Through the mirror of the church, the angels of heaven see the glory of God.
