"But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another." — Galatians 5:15 (ASV)

It is not hard to imagine the kind of strife that may have been present in the Galatian churches, either strife parallel to that of the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 1:10–12; 1 Corinthians 3:1–4) or strife arising directly out of the conflict with the legalizes. Paul does not say precisely what it was, but intense strife was definitely going on among the Galatians.
