Hebrews 11:30

SCRIPTURE

"By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been compassed about for seven days." — Hebrews 11:30 (ASV)

That the falling of the walls of Jericho should be ascribed to faith is not surprising . What else could account for it? The author does not say whose faith he discerned in the story, though it was probably that of both Joshua and those who followed him. The taking of Jericho is a striking example of the power of faith. Apart from the conviction that God would act, nothing could have been more pointless than the behavior of those warriors. Rather than attack, they simply walked around the city once a day for six days and then seven times on the seventh. But once more faith was vindicated, for the walls tumbled down.
