Hebrews 7:15

SCRIPTURE

"And [what we say] is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there ariseth another priest," — Hebrews 7:15 (ASV)

What it is that is “even more clear” is not said (there is nothing in the Greek equivalent to NIV’s “what we have said”). Most likely the expression is meant to include both the ineffectiveness of the Levitical priesthood and the abrogation of the law. It is the appearance of a priest “like Melchizedek” that is the decisive factor.
