"the Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing;" — Hebrews 9:8 (ASV)

The Holy Spirit used the pattern of the OT tabernacle to teach important truths. The limited access into the Most Holy Place was meant to bring home the fact that ordinary people had no direct access to the presence of God. Now, however, people do have such access through the finished work of Christ.
