"Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast:" — John 12:20 (ASV)
Another element that contributed to the crisis was the request of the Greeks to see Jesus. They were probably Gentile Greeks who had joined the Jewish pilgrims to Jerusalem—inquirers, possibly from Galilee or the Decapolis, who had become interested in the Jewish faith but had not become full proselytes.
