"These things said Isaiah, because he saw his glory; and he spake of him." — John 12:41 (ASV)
The implication in this verse is startling. Isaiah 6 opens by Isaiah saying that he saw the Lord (Isaiah 6:1, 5). John now claims that Isaiah saw Jesus and spoke of him. In other words, he identified Jesus with the Lord (Heb. “Yahweh”; GK 3378) of the OT.
