"Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, and saith unto him, Tell [us] who it is of whom he speaketh." — John 13:24 (ASV)
Peter signaled to the disciple who occupied the place next to Jesus and “whom Jesus loved” (presumably John), asking him to inquire who the traitor might be. His inquiry demonstrated not only a persistent trait of curiosity but also Peter’s loyalty. He may have contemplated preventive action; for if he could know in advance who the person might be, he could intervene.
