"All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall declare [it] unto you." — John 16:15 (ASV)

(3) The third function of the Spirit is to “glorify” (GK 1519) Christ. His chief purpose is not to make himself prominent but to magnify the person of Jesus. The Spirit interprets and applies the character and teaching of Jesus to the disciples and by so doing makes him central to their thinking and real in their lives.
