Expositor's Bible Commentary Commentary John 4:45

"So when he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast." — John 4:45 (ASV)

The Galileans hoped Jesus would duplicate the signs they had witnessed in Jerusalem while they were attending the Passover. They were disappointed to discover that he had no intention of exhibiting his powers simply to satisfy their curiosity.
