"But I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth." — John 8:50 (ASV)

Jesus denied the allegations and placed the burden of proof back on his adversaries. His aim was to honor the Father; theirs, to bring Jesus into disgrace. He disclaimed all selfish desire for prestige and relegated the final evaluation of his works to the judgment of God.
