"And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit;" — Luke 1:41 (ASV)

In this beautiful narrative, the stirring of the unborn child becomes a joyful prelude to Elizabeth’s being filled by the Holy Spirit, who enlightened her about the identity of the child Mary was carrying.
