"And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name." — Luke 10:17 (ASV)

The messengers returned to Jesus filled with joy. The power of the kingdom was effective against demons just as it was in the ministry of Christ (11:20).

Exorcism must be done in the name of Christ; that is, on his authority .
