Luke 13:12

SCRIPTURE

"And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity." — Luke 13:12 (ASV)

As Jesus was speaking, he suddenly became aware of a crippled woman. Any activity by a demon is ultimately Satan’s responsibility (v.16; cf. comments on 11:14–20). Most important to Luke is the woman’s instant healing and its direct attribution to God. This, of course, shows that Jesus was truly acting with God’s authority. “Praised God” reflects Luke’s special interest in the glory of God (cf. 5:26; 7:16–17).
