"for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment." — Luke 16:28 (ASV)

This unchangeability comes from a hardness not only toward Christ but also toward “Moses and the Prophets” (cf. Jn 5:46). Not even a spectacular “sign,” like one returning from the dead, can change those whose hearts are set against God’s word, as the response of many to the resurrection of Jesus was to show.
