"And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth; and he was subject unto them: and his mother kept all [these] sayings in her heart." — Luke 2:51 (ASV)

Luke hurries on to assure us also of Jesus’ perfect humanity by noting his obedience to his parents. Once more Mary reflects inwardly on the significance of it all (cf. v.19; Genesis 37:11).
